This charming town has one of the oldest castles in the regionIt was the main residence of the Counts of Ferrette, whose title was passed on by inheritance to the Prince of Monaco.



Next to the castle, don't miss the famous Dwarves' Cave whose rocks form an impressive gorge of more than 20 metres. Legend has it that the cave was inhabited by little women and men of the earth, hence its nickname. Alsace, land of wonders!

Another must-see destination during your holiday in Alsace at the Petit Kohlberg hotel is the village of Friesen. Situated in the valley of La Largue, this pretty flowery village has about fifty timber-framed buildings, the oldest of which date from 1497. A walk, offered by the Tourist Office, allows you to discover these traditional Sundgau houses which constitute a unique heritage. Not far from Friesen, swing and putt enthusiasts can practice on the 18-hole Championship course at the Golf de La Largue and enjoy its hilly landscapes.



If you prefer to observe nature in all its diversity, go to the Little Camargue of Alsace. This marsh, a witness to the Rhine jungle, is the largest nature reserve in Alsace and is home to more than 200 species of birds, 40 types of dragonflies and 17 varieties of orchids. Closer to the hotel, the Lake Lucelle and the Courtavon water level are also very pleasant places to walk.
